Key Account Manager – Packaging Equipment
My client is a leading manufacturer of high quality plastic packaging machinery. They have been in business for over 50 years and specialize in food packaging and healthcare machinery, form-fill-seal, traysealers, chamber machines, and turnkey production lines. This is an international organization, continuing to grow and be a leading supplier here to the United States. They have over 300 employees and are doing around $200 million in revenue annually. The sales of packaging equipment has been successful and they are currently in a huge growth curve, over 50% in employment and expanding their manufacturing, and are in need of an experienced, technically minded, Sales Manager.

Your role within the organization will be to be the main point of contact for some of the company’s largest customers for packaging needs predominantly for food and other CPG markets. This could be potentially any products throughout the company’s portfolio, so need someone who truly knows the market and the customers and has proven success in client development and building customer relationships. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for growth, meet or exceed account objectives, and add value to customer through product creativity, service, and strong relationships.
To be successful in this role:
Bachelors Degree – Technical, Business, Marketing, etc.
Demonstrated experience in building customer relationships with machinery sales
5-10 years in selling equipment – open to food processing, food packaging, form-fill-seal, blow molding, filling, and others
Strong communication and customer service orientated
Strong experience in managing a large account, developing relationships, and being strategic
This position needs to have someone based in the Kansas City, MO, area. The role requires you to travel often to customers and when not traveling, be in the plant for project management. You will travel about 70% of the time, mostly in the central regions.
