Our client (an award winning leader in the transloading and trucking industry) is seeking a Sales Manager pro!
The client has a successful 20 year tradition in the transportation and transloading industry with over 65 employees across five locations. They are a dynamic company known for their casual, team-oriented work environment, and dedication to providing opportunities for career growth and advancement to employees at all levels. This opportunity offers both Hunter and Account Management responsibilities. You will utilize your skills with prospecting, networking and referrals to build and sustain new customer relationships to expand our client base. This will require a solid foundation in strategic sales, rather than just a transactional approach. Internal relationships are also a key part of this role as you will work directly with a variety of our client's departments including Trucking, Operations, Maintenance and Finance. Reports to the COO.
Essential Job Functions
Develop a sales strategy to achieve organizational sales goals and revenues
Analyze and interpret sales data to identify sales opportunities
Research and develop marketing activities; prospecting for new business leads to expand customer base
Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales revenue
Generate timely sales reports
Control expenses and monitor budgets
Conduct market research and competitor and customer analysis
Investigate lost sales and customer accounts
Attend trade meetings and industry conventions
Cultivate effective business relationships with decision makers in key accounts
Providing transportation solutions to full-service lease and maintenance customers
Executing marketing plans and account development strategies to expand contractual product lines and add new customers.
Attaining sales goals at or above quota revenues
Interacting with existing and prospective customers to identify and propose solutions to resolve transportation problems, meet transportation needs and achieve sales growth
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Business degree, Master's not required but a plus!
Minimum 5 - 7 years sales experience in transportation sales organizations
Proven track record using a consultative selling process to propose solutions to customers
A strong background in strategic sales (as opposed to straight transactional sales)
Strong relationship-building skills, both with customers and internally within a large process-driven organization
Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy
Proven experience in customer relationship management
Knowledge of market research
Relevant product and industry knowledge
